A random continuation of the measuring exposure exercise, I noticed this morning that the Shard was very faint through the morning mist.
At average exposure, the Shard is imperceptable with they sky completely blown out:
I then reshot the image at half a stop under exposed, you can just see the faint outline of the shard:
Then in processing I changed the exposure to two stops underexposed, and the shard is clearly in view, however there is the penalty that the foreground is now completely dark:
