Magic Lantern Guide Nikon D5000
Similar experience to reading the camera manual but with a bit more explanation and some nice images. Am largely ignoring the in-camera processing aspects as you can do these more effectively on a computer. Other aspects of the camera that I have noted to explore further are the exposure and focussing systems (understand ISO, but need to get to grips with metering - as noted below - and focus modes), the bulb and time exposures in manual mode (I already heard about these but have never tried them) and using AE lock. I am also interested in how you can use white balance in the wrong way to get a better effect (mis-matching), e.g. using sunny setting for shooting sunsets to enhance the red, although you can also do this in processing. I think the next priority is getting to grips with focussing systems, once I've reread the other books. And of course the biggest challenge is bringing it all together in shot!
