After completing the first exercise on positioning a point, I looked
back through the introduction to the chapter and thought again about the
kinds of subjects and backgrounds that demonstrate points well. These
could be:
- An animal in a field
- A boat or bird on a lake
- A change in colour or tone in an abstraction
- The centre of a flower
- A particular person in a crowd
- A change in lighting in a small area of an image
- An isolated building
- A signpost
- A rock or boulder in the landscape
- The eye of something - a statue maybe
I then looked back through images I had taken since starting the course for good examples of prominent points:
