Macro lens

Slightly off-piste now (in terms of following the course), but having recently purchased a macro lens (AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/3.5G ED VR), I was keen to try it out on my visit to Kew Gardens.  I am really pleased with the results.  Ignoring composition, I just wanted to see what the lens can do: in some cases I got bugs, in some water drops, in others a close up view of the centre of the flowers but in all of them a sense of colour and beauty.  I even got some contrast shots for later use (cactus spines against the fleshy body).

Since writing this, I created a separate Macro blog to record how this journey progresses: Macro blog
